I went into Bath and Body Works the other day to pick up some Fall soaps. Down here in Florida it is a part of the passage from hot summer to warm fall to do whatever you can to trick yourself into believing that there has been a change of season. At the first sign of highs in the mid-80s you can see people down here light up in anticipation of cooler weather (anything below 90 accompanied by humidity below 70%). I am happy to report that fall will be here again this weekend. Time to chop the firewood and get out the sweaters.
I love Bath and Body Works because they feature seasonal soaps. This year I have Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin in my kitchen. Orchard Leaves and Caramel Apple are in the bathrooms. Yes, as long as we wash our hands a lot, fall is in the air. I am particularly fond of the air freshener that I bought last year for fall – Leaves. The scent is so wonderful that it makes me thankful whenever someone is in the bathroom and needs to cover an offensive odor. One night after a chili dinner I had a smile on my face all night long as I enjoyed the scent of leaves over and over. My husband is starting to be suspicious that I might be putting a laxative in our meals, but I have assured him I would never do that.
As I wandered through B&BW, I felt like I was being engaged in conversation by the products on the shelves. It was a little unnerving at first – a little too interactive for me.

Also, in addition to the pleasant fall items and discounted summer items there are some things that should not be purchased as a means of cleansing your hands. If I wanted to buy Zombie Tonic or Vampire Blood, Bath & Body Works is about the last place I would have looked, but there it was. Apparently they cover the whole gamut of fall needs.

I did not purchase these last two items as I wasn’t certain of their intended use. I’ll stick with Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, thank you very much.

Well, Roger, I’ve always been a pretty good speller. When we moved down here 30 some years ago I didn’t think I’d need coats, I was wrong. You don’t need them as much, but we do get our cold fronts. I’m not surprised that Shirley can knit, she has that domestic air about her. I tried my hand at it and sadly I am not very coordinated. Thanks for your fun comment.

I visited Miami in February and loved it! I don’t know if I would feel the same way in the summer. If you want to experience winter, come to Wisconsin. We have plenty of snow to go around!

You know it’s not winter I miss so much, it’s fall. By this time of year we get weary of the AC going all the time and want out time outside. I was raised in Maryland, but Wisconsin might be a little overwhelming for me.
